If Jesus Is "A god", Why Are JWs Considered Monotheists?

they say they believe jesus christ is "a god" as john 1:1 in the nwt teaches.

they even call christ "mighty god".

(notice no small "m").

That's why the Trinity Doctrine was formulated.To try and settle the age old argument of a seemingly unexplained contradiction as found in the bible.Jesus was so special that the early christians were prepared to die in the belief that he was Lord ( God )and not Ceaser.The Trinity in it's way says that Jesus is of the same essence as The Almighty therefore you can still have the one God.

I would prefer to believe in the Trinity explanation than the Witness explanation.It's a matter of who do you believe.I know which belief I prefer.

I agree but whether good or bad or improving the important issue is to communicate one's thoughts even if it means sending smoke signals.

Hi Scotsman glad your'e here mate,

When you read the comments posted on this forum you might begin to,even if it's vague, have a feeling that maybe the JW's are wrong.It will start with a little realisation here and there.A little voice from your intelligent enquiring mind will make you question the watchtower doctrines. Please follow it up like a detective would, dig deep, exhume the body of past watchtower beliefs if you have to, but if you ignore it now you will live in ignorance probably for years .The reason your leaders do not want you to communicate with peple who have experienced the watchtower model and have found it flawed is the fact that accurute understanding can only come from a different perspective. Have you ever seen the revolving mask.When you look at it at a glance the hollow side looks full and the full side looks empty.It's only until you look close enough that you realise the true perspective.Have you never been in a situation when you have thought everyone is out of step except youself and then it's suddenly dawned that you are the one that is wrong.?

Watchtower no part of the world? -- The finances are invested in the world's stock exchanges.

Involvment with war?-- Read the history of Gods people in the Hebrew scriptures.

A people more pure? --Come on now get real.

Babylonian teaching?--Jehovah is a God ,Jesus is a GOD ,hello ,the worship and believe in more than one deity.

1975? -- I was there. I heard it just as much as I watched and listened on the day that Kennedy was shot. It was as if it was yesterday.The answer to the 75 belief was, well we don't know when Eve was created. Hello! ever been had.

Generation? -- Most discussed subject on the door to door work--Do I feel stupid now? You bet your sweet bippy I do.Still most people who I talked to are now long gone.

Become a Watchtower Writer ! (sort of)

here is the challenge.... you are all well versed in watchtower logic and their ability to link bible passages that have no connections, so.... i was wondering whether anyone can post articles or snippets of articles that we could write in wt style to "prove" unlikely beliefs.. a good example would be the "are cats for christians" - however, i am not thinking of anything as long as that.. this will have a serious application - to show by humour that wt logic can be used to prove anything and still make it look scriptural.. any takers ?.

nutshell premise: the central doctrine of christianity is that jesus christ died in order to atone for and secure god's grace for the sins of all mankind.. then what is the central doctrine of jws?

(it most surely is not the above.).

The expression "The Truth" always reminds me of advertising slogans that make promises which are false such as "this is his best movie ever" or"hurry, sale must end Monday" and then right after they have another sale and so the sale goes on year after year."This toothpaste will leave your teeth gleaming white," is another. "New improved" is another slogan which is churned out time after time which makes you think that the original must have been pretty bad in the first place." These prices can't last." " Hands that do dishes can feel soft as your bottom."Well I haven't quite heard that expression but something very similar.

So it is with the Whackytower " We are the only one's with the truth." "He has left the truth." what! "How long have you been in the truth?" Were you in the lie before that?" "We are trying to get people to accept the truth." you gotta be kidding me, right! "We don't believe that teaching anymore we have a "new improved" understanding less hard on our mental capacity which is as soft as our brain. These days can't last hurry down to your local kingdumb hall before we have to change our latest understanding once it's gone it's gone.,well until we bring it back again.

Let's put a jingle to it.

A million housewives everyday pick up a washtower and say this meanz truth.

A meeting a day helps you work rest and play.The crumbliest flakiest religion .

I'd like to teach the world to lie and furnish it with hate ,grow apple trees without the flees.

it is fair to say that many of us on this board rid ourselves of the watchtower societys.

This is not about carrying anything from the watchtower days of sentimental value but about something weired that was given back to me.

After about twenty five years of having nothing to do with the tower an old friend contacted me .This guy had been a friend after I had left the borg and I hadn't seen him since my wedding twenty years previously.We got talking about the old days and the good times when he happened to mention that he had something of mine. This turned out to be a wooden ruler.I recognised it right away by the scribble on it.I had used it for underlining the watchtower study material.This was so weired, why would he have this item, he wasn't even a witness ,and why keep it for all that time? Anyway I threw it on the fire I thought it might be demonised having underlined so many false promises and lies.

I have kept a couple of photo's of a sister that I used to date cant't seem to throw them out .That's sentiment for you.

WTS Ruling on Visiting Churches. What is it These Days?

i'm sure this subject has been discussed over and over again but i've still managed to miss it.

what is the current ruling on jws attending church services?

Only an organisation that is being directed by the Devil would write statements telling you not to go into a church.They are the utterings of an anti Christ. Just imagine the Devil whispering in your ear telling you, "do not participate in this unchristian act because you might become more caring ,loving ,kind and better person. My disciples who I have deceived will look down upon you with shunning plans in mind lest the goodness you have received also contaminates the rest of the no brainers that I have misled."

The WTS leaders will stop at nothing in order to keep their followers blinfolded. Go into a mainstream church JWs' and learn something useful for a change, go into as many as you can.Disregard your preconceived opinions ,you might come away uplifted and a better person for it.You might actually end up contributing something really beneficial to humanity in the process.Give the Devil a good kicking in the orchestra stalls he won't like it one bit.

Just the fact that the borg leaders told me not to go would make me go into a church ,a chapel or even a cathedral because they are wrong on just about everything they spew forth.

Hi,

I heard all this fantasy island stuff over forty years ago .It's the same now as it was then ,it can dangerously affect the well being of anyone who believes and follows it. It should come with a health and wealth warning,These guys are of the the devil ,deceivers one and all.In another forty years time are they going to be saying the same thing over and over again.?

The bottom line is that they have an aggenda ,they need people to peddle their deceptive propaganda through slavish labour and they will twist and manipulate the bible any which they can in order to persuade decent people to follow their ill thought out dogma.They are not interested in the welfare of their followers.They have one aim and it is self preservation.You would think that after a hundred years of dishing out the same old garbage ,that they would have changed tack by now ,but no ,it works for them, those so called leaders ,blind leading the blind, both falling into the pit . To those who follow; when it all goes pear shaped remember you were warned,but don't wait forty years before you start thinking for youself.

I'll tell you who the giant is ,it's The Watch Tower Society.The Davids' in this battle of right and wrong are people like the ones who post here chipping away with missiles of truth,trying to warn people of the hidden traps and snares of the Watchtower demi gods who are constantly lying in wait for the unsuspecting person.

Because their objectives and aims are done in the name of a religion they can get away with all kinds of shenanigans.If they traded as an insurance company or as a commercial book publisher they would have been out on their ear years ago .It's amazing what you can get away with in the name of religion.Maybe it's a snare and a racket ,as someone once said ,and we know who said it ,don't we.
